I have always been an active and competitive person. Growing up, I competed in the American Quarter Horse Association for 4 years. Through high school and college, I was a member of dance teams, which provided me with experiences competing on a national and local level, as well as being involved in the basketball spirit squad and local community appearances and charity events. I coached the North Georgia College and State University dance team for 2 years after that. I also ran the 400 and 4x4 events in track for a few years in high school. I competed in several Crossfit competitions from 2016 to 2019. After competing in Crossfit, I trained for and ran my first half-marathon. After the half,-marathon, I decided to compete in Olympic Weightlifting. My most recent athletic achievement was winning Texas State Champion in 2021 and breaking a state record for the Snatch that same year.

After graduating with my Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from North Georgia College and State University in 2009, I moved to Portland, Oregon to attend University of Western States, where I earned a second Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Master's in Exercise and Sport Science, and a Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine. I am certified through the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Since graduating from Grad school, I have achieved my Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Practitioners (DACBSP) and I am currently serving on the Board of Directors. I am a certified full-body Active Release Technique provider.

I also have experience with:

  • Diversified technique

  • SFMA

  • Kinesiology taping

  • Activator technique

  • Functional Movement Screens

  • Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue

  • FAKTR

  • Applied Kinesiology

I worked for 3 years in different physical therapy offices and environments and 2 years in sports and conditioning programs, including an internship with the University of Texas Football Strength and Conditioning program. I have honed my skills as a Sports Medicine Chiropractor by working with athletes from a myriad of disciplines, including but not limited to: football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, rugby, running, swimming, handball, rodeo, dance and CrossFit.

My practice is built around patient-centered care, functional rehabilitation and providing exceptional chiropractic treatment. In addition to my passion for sports medicine and chiropractic, the experience I have with a large variety of musculoskeletal conditions and types of sports, sets me apart from other healthcare providers.

Dr. Peyton Vickers DC, BS, FAKTR, BRM, APCC

Chiropractor

Contact Me

Hey there!

My name is Dr. Peyton Vickers DC, BS, FAKTR, BRM and im a physical rehabilitation, manual therapy and performance enhancement expert specializing in biomechanics.

I’ve been an athlete my entire life but high school is really where all of this started. I sustained a lot of injuries including a broken neck and my football career ending. I decided to go for track and did very well and eventually was awarded a scholarship to run D1 track (100m, 200m, long jump, triple jump and high jump). I qualified to regionals and nationals where I would get injured again. This time I broke my lower back in 2 places so I had two options, surgery or physical therapy. I chose physical therapy and although I was happy with my choice, I never really reached 100%, they treated me as if I was made out of glass, everything was extremely light weight, slow, etc. So I did my own research, focused on true strength and mobility and got myself back on track.

I decided to become a doctor to bridge the gap and empower my patients. I know first hand what injuries and pain can do to someone. It’s not just physical, it can really get in the way of your quality of life and I want to advocate for you. I’m here to tell you this: You are not fragile. You are resilient, strong and brave. Utilizing Apex Sports Medicine and all that it offers to invest in your health is the best thing you’ll ever do. I can’t wait to meet you!

Contact Me

James Wynn grew up in Nottingham, United Kingdom. Around the age of 16-17 whilst starting a job as a lifeguard, he became interested in his own physical fitness and threw himself into training: lifting weights, swimming, running and martial arts. This all eventually led to him discovering Crossfit and consequently lots of self research about how to fix his mobility issues and a passion to learn more about the body and how it all works and links together.

James moved to Austin in late 2018 to marry his long distance fiancé, they own 2 Beagles and a cat.

Office Coordinator

My name is Kaelyn, but everyone calls me Kakes. I am a US Navy Veteran that was born and raised in Texas.

Throughout my life I have loved and played many sports. I lead an active life, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy playing a video game here and there.

Outside of Apex, I am an Assistant Coach for a women's tackle football team, the Austin Outlaws.

When I am not working or coaching, I am most likely making memories with my family!

What our patients are saying about us

Fantastic Experience

I can't even begin to explain how much Dr. Faulkner has done to improve my quality of life. She's taught me so much about listening to my body and doing what helps me. The relief she's brought me over the last few months has honestly changed my life for the better. I can't express my gratitude enough! Would definitely recommend.

Relieved Pain

"I am beyond thankful for Apex! The moment I walk in the door I know I am welcome and going to be well taken care of. I have seen both Meghan and Mary for some time and recommend them every chance I get. Both of these ladies always start with an open conversation about my current pain/need, and then a treatment follows specific to my individual needs. Also, the front desk staff are wonderful! They are willing to make insurance calls and help you figure out the best plan financially."
