Tulum Recap

I traveled to Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico for my birthday and it was a trip of a lifetime. Here are my three big take-ways that I wanted to share with you.

food

I love food. I love health. And I love my body. At home, I eat things to support my goals. I focus on how food is going to improve my health instead of whether its a “good” or “bad” food. While I was in Tulum, my goal changed. It was to enjoy all meals without feeling guilty. I wanted to sample the local cuisine and soak in the experience. It’s OK if your goals shift for a bit, you will not “ruin” anything in a week except your experience. It matters what you do MOST of the time, not every second.

move

I love to be active. Being active is now such a big part of my life that I find fun ways to incorporate it even into my vacations. We found a local gym right on the beach called the Jungle Gym and did a quick workout just to move our bodies. Find an activity that you love and it won’t feel like work.

be present

Before I went to Tulum I set a goal/intention to be fully present and enjoy the experience. What I felt was extreme peace. I have set up my work systems so well that they now run without me. I only checked in because I had FOMO. It's important to know that the work you have put in is enough and fully embrace stillness.
